I want to Cancel my Old PayPal Acount but I can't login.

I have an old account that I used about 7 years ago, probably with my old bank account.

When I tried to log in, it kept sending me to the password reset page, and after I got the reset email it would not let me reset the password (I got a message saying "something went wrong").

I tried to contact the "call us" number but that did not help. I eventually gave up on trying to log into my old account and made a new one with my secondary email.

I would like to cancel the old account so I can use my primary email on this new account. I need to do this to link my new PayPal account to my bank account, which needs my PayPal and bank to have the same Email.

Is there a way to ask for my old account to be canceled?

See if customer services can close it for you?

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

I'm in a similar situation, I'm trying to add a 2nd email to my PayPal account, but whenever I add the 2nd email it says it's linked to an account already... but I only have 1 PayPal. So I try to login w the email in question and it keeps saying something went wrong...I try the forgot password and when I enter that email to have them send the link,, it just keeps saying something went wrong.. I do have a venmo account setup w the email I'm trying to add to my PayPal , I wonder if that could possibly be the account its linked to??? Idk
