I cannot verify my account

I cannot verify my account. It says i still need to add an American bank account although I have already linked my South African bank account. I don't have an American bank account nor am i an American citizen.

You can in most countries add a U.S bank account (not card) to a paypal account. This is because paypal is a U.S company and allows that option for U.S Paypal account holders working in other countries. 

However to verify a paypal account in your country you would need to add a visa credit card.
