How do I distinguish between my personal account and a business account I've been added to?

I'm helping a charity, who has a PayPal business account, with their website, and because we want to use PayPal buttons, the treasurer gave me access by adding me to their PayPal account, and issuing me with an ID. I got an automated email from PayPal with a button to click to set up my profile, which I did. However, after logging out, I couldn't get back in again, because it wouldn't accept my ID (the ID that was validated was just text, not an email address), but only an email address. But I have a personal PayPal account, so of course when I logged in, I only had access (as expected) to my personal account.

I contacted PayPal who told me they could see I'd been added to the account, but couldn't help me log in, and that logging in would indeed only give me access to my personal account. I was a little puzzled, because I'm sure I can't be the only person who not only has access to a business PayPal account but also has their own personal account, so was wondering if anyone in the community has had this issue?

The reason I was given access to the charity's account is because their web designer has left, and I'm uploading a programme of events to their website which has a PayPal button on it. I need access to the PayPal account itself to see how those buttons are configured. But that's another question (I'm not a web designer myself, just someone who vaguely knows their way around some of Wordpress)!
