Help with letter of Authorisation UK Paypal Business Account

I used to work for a retail business (based in the UK) & their Paypal business account is still in my name. All of the other information pertaining to the account matches to the business: email address, phone numbers, address, etc.

They've asked me to help them get the name changed & have given me a "Letter of authorisation" that needs to be completed (I watched the manager download it from the business Paypal account when we tried to change the name & so it's legit).

But from looking at the form, I think it needs to be completed by the new person managing the account (one of the business Directors), as it doesn't make sense to me that I've left the business & should be submitting my details to PayPal as I no longer work for them.

Additionally the form needs the name of the "legal entity" & a "represented by" I'm at a blank as to what should be entered for them?

I've googled & had a search, but am still a bit unclear about all of this & would be grateful for any help or advice. Thank you.

Hello @tel77

Welcome to PayPal's Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear there's been some confusion related to a name change on an account. The Letter of Authorization would normally need to come from the current PayPal account owner stating the new intended PayPal account owner will be taking over the account. That LOA also normally needs include the business' official letterhead. So if your first and last name is listed as the current PayPal account owner, the LOA would need to be addressed from and signed by you.

I hope that clears things up! Feel free to reach out to our Customer Support teams for assistance.

Best wishes!
