From anonymous to real name.

Back when I started my PayPal, I had to use an anonymous name as a privacy matter but as times passes and realizing I had to use my real name, I was in heat trouble, I don't mind verifying my identity and changing my name but I'm mainly curious about what happens and how I should approach changing my name.

If the name on the account is not a name that was ever your legal name, it is not likely that a name change will be possible. Names can be changed on an account in the following circumstances:

A legal name change

A minor misspelling

And in the case of an account for a registered business, a change in the designated contact for the company.

Changing from a fictitious name or nickname to a legally recognized name is not something that is supported. If the account is not currently limited, you may wish to close the account and open an account using the correct information.

" open an account using the correct information." While this is also an option, what about my funds? I have my savings in here and I'm afraid I'll lose it when I transfer over.

The savings may already be lost as they belong to the person named on the account that has a legal document to prove its their name or has verified their account with a bank or card in the same name as the paypal account.

The thing is, the name is fictitious and is not tied to any bank account, but me being hit with a required identification made me wanna change my name that's actually tied to my documents, which is why I wanna change my name.

I have contacted support and they told me my last option is just to close this account and start a new one using my actual name, but my last question is, if transferring balance to a new account, what's the limit?
Oh and, my account only gets limited next month.
