Changing primary e-mail address.

PayPal makes it easy to add or remove e-mail addresses, except the primary one. But my primary address comes from my ISP - and I am changing to another. So PayPa; wants me to sign in with an address I don't use, and will want to send e-mails to an address I don't have ?

Its crazy. What do I do then - close the account, and then have all the hassle of setting up a new one ? Come on POayPal, I can't be the only p[erson in the world with this problem ?

To update an email address, you must have at least two email addresses on file.
Login to your account.
* Click on the Gear icon.
* Click on the "+" in the Email box.
* Enter your new email address.
* Click "Add Email"

* You will need to confirm the new email - once you've done that, you can make it the Primary and delete the old email.

Thank you for that. I think the problem is just that the whole of the PayPal app seems a bit creaky on my Mac - e.g. it often does not accept my password until I have had two or three tries.  Whatever, I have got there now, so thanks again.

Go and click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > click on the + and add another/new email address first > verify it > go back and click on update and tick the box underneath that says make primary > then you should get the remove option by the old now no longer primary email. You can remove that one or leave it on as you can have up to 8 email addresses on the one paypal account.
