Change 2fa token to different authenticator

My current PayPal authentication goes to an Authenticator that is going to be discontinued soon and I’m wondering how to change it to either the Google or MS authenticators.

I hate to say it but that answer doesn’t help me. I’m looking find out how to change PayPal to another Authenticator.

I have found that I can turn off the 2FA in PayPal so I decided to do that and will enable it again after the current Authenticator has been discontinued. Is using a security key any better and does it need to be checked or keyed when logging into PayPal?
