want to remove old address

Hi I'm trying to remove an old address on my account. I have another address as my main address. There are no card or bank accounts linked to that but if my direct debit fails or there are other issues, Paypal always writes to that address. I want to delete that address & would prefer e-mail anyway, but when I try to delete the address, nothing happens. its very annoying.

Any ideas?
