no alternative to mobile number? paypal changed policy several months back- recieve phone (landline) voice message is disabled.
unable to login or use my account. customer service has not been responsive-ignorance or despotic policy.

You need a mobile phone to access your paypal account now.
It happens. Hit the "Login to Ask the community" button to create a question for the PayPal community.
