a cannot add my bank account

I have called customer service 3 times now trying to add mY bank account and they keep saying i have the wrong details which i DO NOT! Its an irish bank account, could that be the issue?
I dont rememeber ever adding my bank details to another account. Even when i try to add my moms it says we are unable to confirm your sort code.
Can someone help?

We can only bank accounts from the same country as your PayPal account. If your bank account and PayPal account are registered in Ireland but you are unable to add it, please reach out to the specialist team via email, phone or through Twitter @AskPayPal or via Private Message on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK. They'll be happy to run through this with you in detail and get to the bottom of the issue.
