Money held for shipment but not a seller

My dad sent me money via the pay.me request link but PayPal said it was holding the funds till I shipped whatever. I am not a seller and it clearly states that. How can I get the money released sooner. Also unable to call the service number because my phone is a prepared while studying abroad in NL.

Its down to how the payment was SENT to your account.

1. If your family member chose the send money > goods / services option then paypal would see you as a seller and apply the new seller hold. They would also charge you a fee.

2. If your family member had chosen the send money > family / friends option then you would have had the payment instantly.

You could try getting your family member to call customer services and authorise them to release the payment sooner as it was sent the wrong way?

I will have them try that! Thank you! He said he didn't hit that button at all cause I had him walk me through his steps.
