Just wondering why when I call Paypal to ask a question about my account I get a message that tells me the wait time is 42 to 64 minutes? This is not a general question and something I need to speak to someone about. There is a problem with Paypal when i"m told I will need to wait 1 hour. If you need to hire more help please do so. Don't make people wait an hour to speak someone how horrible.

Well no one here is going to hire anyone as it has nothing to do with us.
Suggest you either wait for an hour or phone at a quieter time.

Excellent suggestions but I don't guess that the fact that anyone would have to wait 1 hour on the phone at any time would be unacceptable and that maybe, just maybe they would want to improve on 1 hour wait times. Are you affiliated with Xfinity/Comcast? I'm seeing similiarities. Bottom line, if someone has to wait 45 - 60 mins on hold before they get someone on the phone then that company is not doing a good job.I'm not asking anybody on here to help. I realize they can't. I was just making a statement regarding poor customer service.

I spent 2 hours on hold for the tax office the other day so its not uncommon at busy times to be on hold for large companies.
And I am not affiliated with anyone !!!!!!!!!
I tend to take the view that when I phone I stick the phone on loud speaker, carry on with what I am doing around the house until they answer.......no big deal.

Really do think you should apply for a job at a company that provides poor customer service. You are good with excuses. You'd fit in well.
When somebody complains that they were told their wait could be an hour most people would be upset and agree that it was ridiculous.
You compare it to the time you spent 2 hours on hold and say 1 hour is no big deal.
Anyway, I've never had to wait anywhere near that long with Paypal in the past so I was surprised I was told the wait would be that long.
Hopefully I just called at a very bad time and that will not be the norm in the future.

Just because my opinion does not match your own does not make it an excuse.
I don't find it a problem but you do, deal with it.

@Caller I agree with you 100% ... take the phone company for instance ... I have a business line plus cell phone on the account ... I pay a lot of money each year to them so when I call I do not expect to wait very long at all to speak to someone, and I think i might have reason to call ONLY once or twice a year ... the phone systems with their many questions are rediculus and take more time then someone simply answering my question. So yes, if companies need to hire more people to answer the phone then they should because in most cases the people calling also happen to be the people who pay them or generate revenue for them. Now granted there is probably a decent % of calls that are not necessary and are from lazy people not willing to try and figure something out, I am no one of them ... when I call it is for a very good reason, probably like yourself.
Well, thanks for the opportunity to share a rant about phone support (or lack of ha-ha-ha).
Gee, I would settle for a Chat screen.

If you want to get through quickly you don't answer any questions.
When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or press 0 .

Excellent suggestion, I never thought of that. I have in the past on other phone systems simply started to say "agent" ... phone systems recognize that word and will at least get you to a line to speak with a human but it does not always cut down on wait time.

@Caller What did you do when you got that message about the wait time? Was there an option that they would call you back? I had something like that happen to me once when I called, I think the wait time was like 23 - 26 minutes and if memory serves was given a choice to have someone call or I could continue to wait ... I decided to wait and selected that choice ... in less than 1 minute someone picked up. I am not sure if that's normal ...
