Entered my Prepaid VISA card in my PayPal - DID NOT WORK

I bought a prepaid VISA card recently at a nearby SafeWay store. Of course, I visited PayPal to enter my credit card in in order to shop online. However, I tried entering my unused credit card number and I end up with no money in my PayPal account. YET, I lose money in my VISA card. (This is because of the $1 fee) That is not all, I got 2 expuse fees (I don't know what that is, but they both charged me $1.95) and now my $25 VISA went down to a little bit over $20.

Anyone care to help me?

I also did this 5 days ago, and PayPal is currently ripping off my money.

Here is what I recieved. Replaced some numbers with "###" just in case those numbers were meant to be personal. The $25.00 is really nothing, but if you add the $1 and $1.95, you can see that it adds up to almost $6. $25 - $6 = $19 with $0 in my PayPal account.

The $1.95 charges appear to be the PayPal "link and confirm" charges... the 4-digit numbers (4648 and 6180) just to the left of the "PAYPAL" text appear to be the expanded use numbers... the "EXPUSE" text = "Expanded Use"... the link and confirm procedure was previously called the expanded use procedure.

Here is the PayPal Help Center information about the confirm credit card procedure...

How do I confirm a debit or credit card that I've linked to my PayPal account?

After you’ve added your card number, we need to verify that you own the card on your account. Here’s how:

Authorize PayPal to use your card to send a code to you

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Profile.
  3. Click Credit/Debit Cards under Financial Information.
  4. Click Link and Confirm My Card.
  5. Click Save and Continue.

Locate the code on your card statement

  1. PayPal will charge $1.95 to your card. (We’ll credit this amount to your PayPal account within 30 days.)
  2. The charge will appear on your debit or credit card statement along with a 4-digit code and the word PayPal.
  3. If you view your card statements online, you can check for the code in a few days. Otherwise, check for the code when you receive your next statement in the mail.

Confirm your card by entering the code

  1. Have your 4-digit PayPal code ready.
  2. Log in to your PayPal account.
  3. Click Profile.
  4. Click Credit/Debit Cards under Financial Information.
  5. Click Link and Confirm My Card.
  6. Enter the 4-digit PayPal code.
  7. Click Submit.

sandypurins, thanks for the good attempt to help me, but my card was already confirmed and STILL the fee was not removed and also my credit card has $21.10. My PayPal balence has $1.95 and not $21.10. I'd rather have $21.10 than having $1.95.

I've only had to use the Expanded Use Number when linking a bank account. Never had to use them when confiming a credit/debit card. I just added a card today and it was confirmed automatically. Hope this helps.
