charged my credit card rather than debiting my bank account...why?

After years of always debiting my checking account for transactions, PayPal charged my credit card.

How can this happen with 5 figures in the checking account?

I really do not understand why PayPal did this...very inconvenient for me.

Hi svbebe,

When you make a payment, if you have not selected a Preferred Payment Method, PayPal will fund your transaction in this order:

  1. Balance
  2. Instant Transfer from your bank account
  3. PayPal Credit
  4. Debit card
  5. Credit card
  6. eCheck

You can review and modify your payment method before your payment is sent and click "Change" or "More funding options" to select a different way to pay.
