After years of always debiting my checking account for transactions, PayPal charged my credit card.
How can this happen with 5 figures in the checking account?

Hi svbebe,
When you make a payment, if you have not selected a Preferred Payment Method, PayPal will fund your transaction in this order:
- Balance
- Instant Transfer from your bank account
- PayPal Credit
- Debit card
- Credit card
- eCheck
You can review and modify your payment method before your payment is sent and click "Change" or "More funding options" to select a different way to pay.
