UPS Shipping - Cannot process label - Contact information does not match?

I'm a long time ebay/PayPal user.  The UPS shipping labels have always worked fine in the past.  Granted I don't ship a lot of items but I'm trying to print a lable today and get the following message:

 

"The contact information you submitted does not match the information on file for your UPS account. Either update your UPS account information by visiting www.ups.com or update the information below."

 

I verified everything is correct on PayPal.  There was nothing to update.  I went to ups.com but am not even registered with them.  With nothing else to try I registered online using the UPS account number assigned by PayPal.  It recognized the account number and pulled in all info that matched my PayPal account setup.  I was even able to create the shipping label directly from UPS with no immediate payment (I think they send a paper bill monthly).

 

Very strange.  What do I need to do to resynch PayPal and UPS?  I'd much rather use the PayPal system because it autopopulates the recipient address.  And I like to pay as I go.

HI I had the same problem a few months a go and was told to do the fallowing

 

Login to paypal

Click the profile tab

Click on shipping preferences

Make sure your UPS account number is correct

Even if correct remove it then re-add it

 

that worked for me

I had the exact same problem.  Tried many different things to correct the problem by going back and forth between ebay, paypal, and ups help searches.  Finally I created a new account on ups thinking that would straighten it out but no luck again.  Today I found this link on ups and and got all my answers, hope this helps.

Hi, what information did you find on that page that helped?

 

I have the same problem. I've triple-checked my account details on PayPal and UPS and still can't connect them.

That's what I tried – several times!

 

I finally got a PayPal account specialist on the line who said that pre-existing UPS accounts frequently don't work with PayPal. You need to select "I don't have a UPS account yet" and it will generate a new one. That worked.

 

It also turns out you can then add that new number to your UPS login, and UPS don't mind multiple account numbers on one login.

Thanks for posting this. I had the exact same problem and it was the first time I have ever used my UPS account through paypal. I deleted my UPS account in my profile and readded it and it fixed my problem as well. Smiley Happy

I've been thru/still am this whole thing also.  Have done what a lot of you all said - verbatim.  Finally I mailed paypal support and got the same reply with instructions to remove/add again.  Here's my concern:  one of you said it didn't work until you clicked I don't have an account then you had to set up a new one.  Is anything going to effect the "special Pricing Program" ---and the discounted rates I now reecieve?  When I clicked the remove button-- it instructed that if I confirm, I'm going to have to re-register.  The first time I registered, it took 4-6 business days before any of the rates and benefits went in to affect with this UPS/PAYPAL account.  I canceled and made my way here.  Glad I found you all and all these answers. 

 

Oh what the Heck. I'm gonna take a leap of faith and hope it goes as easy as it did for a few of you.  The remove, re-add, WA-LA!  button.  I wasted enough time on this problem the past week and a 1/2.

I'm getting the same error message, even though my contact information at both places is identical, and nothing has changed since I last used the Paypal/UPS system. So I removed my UPS account info from Paypal with the intention of re-adding it, but I can't even do that because I still get the same error message.  Very frustrating. 

 

Ultimately, I had to create a new UPS account through Paypal.  UPS and Paypal need to get their act together on this.

After going back and forth between UPS and Paypal, I looked here in the forums. Deleting the UPS account from my profile and then adding it back in did the trick. I was able to print a label. JEEZ...what kind of retarded technology are they using here?
