*** SHIPPING PROBLEM ****CAN SOMEONE SOLVE THIS?? *****

 I want to buy an item from a merchant that accepts paypal.  It wont approve the transaction because it doesn't like the "SHIP TO " address.  WHY CAN'T WE BUY SOMETHING AND HAVE IT SENT TO AN ADDRESS THAT IS NOT REGISTERED WITH PAY PAL??? This hang-up makes sure that the only things you buy are for yourself! What about gifts??  I want to send a gift to a different address NOT my own!! - very frustrated

Many online Merchants take advantage of an "optional feature" that requires the buyer to have a "confirmed address".   This optional feature is enabled by the Merchant, not PayPal.   When this feature is turned on, it requires the buyers shipping address to be the same as their billing address.   Merchants do this to protect themselves against for not so honest buyers and scammers.
