Paypal safety

Trying to sell something on Craigslist (this is new for me), someone offered to pay me and just wanted my paypal email and my name and address.  Is this common and is this safe, or a scam?

It's going to be a scam, not sure what flavour until they try it.

Likely, you'll get a 'paypal' email saying that funds are in your account, but won't be released until you mil the item express to Nigeria or Burlina Faso.  The email is a fake they make up using your name and paypal adress, which they will now have.

It could be just a standard scam as well.  You have ZERO protection against chargebacks if someone pays by paypal and then picks the item up, because you do not have online verification of delivery.  The person can file a "not received" claim and win every time.

I'd give it a pass.
