PayPal to Philippines

Has anybody sent payments or remittances to the Philippines yet?  I am having a problem with the requested Routing Number.  For example, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) only has an 8-character Swift Code not a 9-digit Routing Number and PayPal rejects this 8-character Swift Code.

warning to all, paypal is not friendly to the philippines. They do not warn you of all the pitfalls that they have.  Especially very few banks in PI can be used. BE CAREFUL

Do you know which Philippines banks do/don't work with Pay Pal. We're trying to transfer funds to Philippine National Bank and getting error messages when trying to register the bank account.

I`m having the same issue trying to connect my account to BDO Philippines.

I also need to know which Banks in the Philippines will accept Transfers from PayPal.

My friend there has an Account with BDO.

After sending him money, he NOW tells me that BDO will not accept a transfer from PayPal...

He said that Union Bank will make transfers. I told him to ask there and open an account with them.

What about ECheck. Can he request and Echeck on his PayPal Account and deposit in at BDO??

So does my friend there just make a Transfer from this PayPal Account to his account at BDO by using their code? 010530667

This is a Personal transfer, not a Commercial one.

We are both new to this.

I used XOOM before for Money Transfers, but they have increased the minimum you can send to the Philippines from USD25 to USD50. GRRRRRR!!

First he has to enroll his bank account to his paypal account, and then the transfers are easy. You would transfer from your paypal to your friends paypal, and then he would tranfer to his bank.

HUM, now PayPal creates another delay.

My friend has enter his Bank Code and Account Number, but when he trys to transfer money from PayPal to his Bank, he gets a New Requirement.

He must first enter a PayPal Code for a Withdrawal they have made from his Bank Debit Card.

PayPal says this is for "security" purposes. And is required to increase his Account Limit from ZERO!!!

And they say the money will be credited back after he enteres the Code.

But if the money is in his account, why do they do this???

Since he cannot access his Debit Card Account online, he must wait for his Statement or go the Bank. Another 4-5 Days. Soon I think he will be past his 30 limit to withdraw money from PayPal Account. And they will get to keep it.

What a PAIN!!!

With Banco De Oro we have access to everything online. Paypal made a couple of small deposits (not withdrawls) to our account, something like 2 pesos each. And we just had to verify that the deposits were made to connect the account. No Proplems
