I pre-ordered an item on the 9th using my Paypal debit card with the understanding that the item wouldn't wouldn't be available for shipment until the 15th. They told me that the charge would show up in my Paypal account, but they wouldn't actually take the money until the item ships. Okay, fair enough.
I look at my account today, and the money I paid for the item is back in my account. Confused, I look at my transaction history and see that the authorization has expired. I didn't realize authorizations expire after 5 days. So does that mean my pre-order is canceled and I need to order the item again? Am I understanding that correctly? What happens from here? The 5-day expiration period really puts a damper on those of us who pre-order items to ensure their availability on the release date... 😕
