I just recieved an email that seemed legitimate and thankfully Mozilla Firefox has the web address already listed as a fraudulent address (thank you firefox!). It seemed entirely legitimate to me because it was saying that paypal was removing inactive accounts and I hadnt used my account in several months. I just wanted to post this up here for other paypal members to take warning. Here are the contents of the message:
Dear PayPal Customer
This e-mail is the notification of recent innovations taken by PayPal to detect inactive customers and non-functioning mailboxes.
The inactive customers are subject to restriction and removal in the next 1 month.
Please confirm your email address and credit card information by clicking the link below:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run
This notification expires January. 20, 2010
Thanks for using PayPal!
The link actually forwards to "http://www_kmacdj_com/about/redirect.html" so if you notice that address on your address bar, please dont enter any information!
(I edited the link out so nobody accidentally clicks it and gets scammed)
