Worried about the potential for chargeback

Hi,

I have recently sold my car (non runner) via ebay but the buyer paid via paypal seperately as he had trouble paying via the ebay advert.

He is getting someone to collect the car on his behalf, they are a garage in Manchester and I am in Surrey. I have transfered the payment from Paypal to my bank but I am concerned that they may chargeback after they take the car, read about scams etc... and that i will lose the car and the money.

Can I get the person collecting the car to sign something?

Or should I cancle the whole thing and refund him to avoid any issues, didnt want to take cash as was worried about fake money being handed over.

Thanks

P

You should really read up on seller protection before starting to use paypal.

Then you would know that you have 0 seller protection for motor vehicles.

So yes they can chargeback and if their c.c. issuer finds in their favour you would lose.
