Suspected fraud - Strange e-mail adress of customer care, not sure if scam

I'm coordinating the purchase of a motocycle i own (I live in Chile) with a person in USA.

I recieved 4 mails from "paypal"

One of them is specially strange because it says that the ammount will not be credited into my account until i pay the shipment to the shipper agent.

Other strange this is that the mails are sent by this strange adress: service[at]paypal.com <paypal[at]verify-department.com>

(Replace [at] with a real at)

I think the first name is to make people think that is from paypal, but it's just a name. And the other is the real sender.

Is this a scam?

Thanks

YEP !!

THIS IS A TYPICAL PAYPAL SCAM.

They encourage you to use paypal and often don't quibble over price and offer you a good deal.

You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't.

It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.

If the item requires shipping they will tell you that they will pay you extra and you must pay the shipping agent via western union / moneygram BEFORE the funds are released to you.

They are not interested in the item, they just want the western union etc funds and you will never see money in your paypal balance.

They also threaten legal action...have a laugh at that one and ignore it as its rubbish.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.

Paypal NEVER expect you to use a rival money transfer service.

Also their is no seller protection on paypal for any type of motor vehicle.

Delete any emails and ignore the scammers.

Accept cash on collection or bank transfer AND NOT PAYPAL for your motor vehicle.
