Stressed by Pending refunds and on hold payments

How do we all stand on pending and on hold transactions.

I had an ebay account for many years and then closed it as I NEVER used it after being 'bitten' by a couple of buyers who claimed they hadn't received items so I LOST a fair amount of money through refunds. you live and learn! so i closed account.

About a year ago I reopened an account. I had no issues, I chose to always send recorded delivery learning from past experience and everything went find, then about 3 months ago, Paypal started 'holding' money from sales for certain lentghs of time. I have above standard rating, always send tracked, 100% feedback but still certain transactions get the money held.

so over December I purchased a few things via Pay After delivery (christmas gifts etc), just after Christmas I had 3 items to return. allw ere returned and marked as received and the refunds all processed on 28th & 31st December and 2nd January - however the monies have come out of my account ands paypal has all the refunds pending on hold!!! no dates of being released... just a vauge - refund pending. because the monies came out of my account I am left in the overdraft. I could cope with this find if a date was given... but no...none!

on top of that... I sold an item on ebay on 28th december, posted it recorded 29th dec. Item reeived by buyer on 2nd Jan... and the money for that item ... which is Over £70 is sitting on hold ountil the 11th January... why as a seller shoudl I be made to wait 21 days to receive payment... its ridiculous

Ive tried calling customer service but of course they're experiencing high volunmes of calls... I emailed but will no doubt receive the money before I get a reply...

argh!! this is very frustrating... any advice?

1.
A seller can only issue a refund via funds in their paypal balance or an echeque.
So if its an echeque it has to clear through from the sellers bank account > paypal > and then it is credited to you and the hold lifted.

2.
Ebay and Paypal are 2 separate companies and have 2 separate policies for holding funds for new sellers.
If yours was an Ebay transaction then its an Ebay hold and Ebay authorise when paypal can release the funds.

Info in this Ebay link below about Ebays hold.
