I overcharged a customer in error tonight and refunded them straight away in full, how long will it take to hit their account?

depends how you funded the refund.

depends how they funded their payment to you in the first place via paypal.

He paid by Credit card and I have refunded to the same card

Yep but you still have not said how you refunded it ie funds in your paypal balance OR a bank account??

In that case once marked completed which would be immediate if you funded it from your balance it would take up to a week to hit the buyers card statement...............paypal say allow 30 days but i have never waited longer than a week.

My last Ebay refund (last week) hit my card statement in 4 days.
