why does it say payment expected 1 jan 1970

i am recieving payment for an ebay item and it looks like funds have not cleared....it says expected 1 jan 1970 

should payment go through straight away, should i have done something to accept payment

PayPal take their slice of the pie instantly out of your transaction, then they hold on to your funds, make loads of interest whilst telling you 'ohhh sorry sir it was system error', then you go back to your microwaveable macaroni cheese whilst they eat lobster in Miami.
