I am being told that I have authorised a payment to a person. I have never used this facility but worse I do not know who this person is. I have disputed this several times but go round in circles. PayPal told me that I had authorised but I hadn’t. Finally someone called me today not to address this but to ask me to pay as I had cancelled the direct debit with my bank as I was concerned about fraud. Despite the fact that after dozens of attempts to contact them I had been finally contacted directly they could not deal with the matter nor pass me on instead they repeatedly told me to do what I had explained I had already done, it was ridiculous the conversation and so frustrating. After refusing to pay they said it would be passed to debt collectors. I have never been in a situation like this and find the whole thing unbelievable - what can I do
