How to release pending funds from paypal when selling an e-book?

I tested whether my paypal button on my website worked by paying £1.00 for something. I don't have any products yet but i'm going to be selling e-books.

The £1.00 that I sent myself, is still being held by paypal until I provide tracking, but i'll never have tracking since i'm selling digital products. I'm pretty sure I did specify that i'll be selling digital goods when setting up my paypal account.

How can I get my payment released from paypal if I can't provide tracking?

Is there another way of getting funds released? As a business, I don't feel I can rely on a buyer to mark the order as 'received' everytime I sell an e-book? Does that mean paypal will never release the funds if the buyer doesn't mark it as 'received'.
