Am I protected if I sell an item and ship it to someone from Facebook Marketplace?

I have a buyer on Facebook Marketplace that wants me to ship my item. He says he will pay upfront for the shipping and cost of my item, through PayPal. Is that safe? Is there a way he can scam me?
