I'm new here, but I'll post what's recently happened. I used paypal to purchase something a couple of days ago. Transaction went through ok, I got a confirmation email, and all fine. Checked my email today to find more emails from paypal saying transactions approved. Puzzled, I opened them to find that I'd apparently transferred over £1000 to people I'd never heard of via my paypal account from my linked bank acct?!
I immediately checked my paypal account, and raised the transactions as fraudulent. ( I presume they will hold any funds till dispute has been resolved?), and I also called my bank to alert them of a possible fraud. However the bank weren't particuarly helpful in that they couldn't put a block on any incoming transactions until they'd happened! ( So I'd be out of pocket before they'd admit they were wrong and refund the money!). Worrying now..
