Hello. I am in the middle of making a PayPal transaction purchasing car parts off an online forum. A fairly new member is selling parts that I REALLY want at a great price. I contacted him via text message, and gave my email for him to send a payment request. I received an email with the money request from his Email. Not PayPal. (Red flag #1) I clicked the link and it brings me to a page asking me to log into PayPal to complete the transaction. Being wary, I closed the page and logged into PayPal via www.PayPal.com. I cannot find anything regarding the money request or transaction that is about to take place. (Red flag #2) Is this a scam or a legitimate money request?

PROTECT YOUR PASSWORD
NEVER give your password to anyone, including PayPal employees. Protect yourself against fraudulent websites by opening a new web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Firefox) and typing in the PayPal URL every time you log in to your account.
