why am I being asked to verify my tax payer information

I've made over 200 transactions if i include goods and service and friends and family, but just on goods and services, I haven't made 200 transactions. I also haven't made 20k in a year. 

Also what happens if I do verify this information

It may just be that you're getting close, so they're trying to get your info on file. This way they're prepared when you do hit the threshold.

The reason they need it is so that they issue a 1099-K form to you for tax filing purposes.
