refund denied

The item purchased was not what was shown when purchased. I started the return process and it to the pont of shipping it back. The company is in china and the cost to return the item is more than the cost of the original purchased item. Paypal refused to listen.

If you do not return item, you will lose dispute. PayPal resolves Significantly not as described (SNAD) claims with return for a refund. You are not entitled to return costs in the dispute as per purchase protection terms, nor can PayPal refund more than what you paid.

PayPal does have a return shipping refund program for future purchases:

Always do a web search on merchant/site for what to expect, bad reviews, their reputation, etcetera, before buying.

What if seller did not mention return but just said that the transaction is ‘cancelled’?
