paypal refunded me for fake item months ago, just received email saying they are refusing case!

I bought fake item, paypal told me to return the item to seller which i did and they then refunded me. This was months ago, now i have received an email saying they are refusing claim as not covers by buyer protection! The money hasn't been taken from my account yet so I am wondering if the email is a mistake, but I don't want to contact them in case they then take the money! The case is still showing as an open dispute being reviewed by paypal on my account.

 

Can they take the money back when they already refunded me??
