no account associated with this email

Hi, 
I received an email from PayPal yesterday, subject:

"You've added a new email address to your PayPal account"

It wasn't me , so when I tried to login to PayPal on my PC and mobile phone I kept on getting

"There's no account associated with this email. please try another email or create a new account." message.

 

I re register my details using my original email address and now because of the new registration , I have lost my previous transitions over the years that I have been with PayPal.

What had happened?
Can this be fixed? where my original details can be retrieved?

You need to contact customer services to resolve any account specific issues.
Click help / contact bottom left of Paypal pages for options available for your country.

Or have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.
