how can I solve this issue?

Hello, I sold an item and got paid via paypal. The buyer indicated the item did not fit and placed a hold on the payment. The buyer has not returned the item (still has several days to return the item) but now my paypal account has a negative balance because of this. If the buyer does not returns the item, will I still have to add funds to paypal to resolve the negative balance issue? any suggestions or comments are welcome thank you. I do not want to end loosing the item and the funds.

If paypal tell the buyer to return for a refund and they don't then yes you should get your money back.

Make sure however that you respond promptly to any questions asked and give as much information as possible.
