Wrong item return question

So I purchased a “golf putting mat”, big thing, 2 mtrs x 4mtrs. Nothing arrived then a pair of sunglasses turned up from China, slightly odd. It turns out seller sent these instead of putting mat, reckon they are worth maybe £2 or 3usd, absolute rubbish, my purchase was for 34usd

problem is resolution centre have contacted seller, who has agreed a refund, but I must pay return postage, and if they arrive I damaged will get a refund. Surely, as this is not what I ordered I do not have to pay postage?
Advice would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.

Ps have been on hold to PayPal for just over an hour, it’s a joke!
