Wrong item received, claim denied.

I received a garment that was the wrong size. I requested a return paid label for the item. I was asked to provide proof and submitted a photo. No response from supplier and PayPal denied the claim, despite being provided with the full email trail. No option to appeal against their decision. What happened to the PayPal protection?
