I recently was interested in an item online ( not ebay and not an auction) I put items in my cart. Instructions said I had to go to check out to see tax and shipping. I did by going to pay PayPal. I chose NOT to purchase. I did NOT touch "complete purchase "button. I logged off. I later received an email from PayPal. I opened it. It said"if you want to complete your purchase you must log into sellers website and select "complete purchase ". I did NOT do so. Later I received a receipt for the transaction. I contacted PayPal and reported unauthorized purchase. 24 hours later I'm informed that PayPal has sided against me and the purchase is legitimate. Why is there a "complete purchase "button and why did I receive an email asking if I want to complete purchase if the purchase was already made? Something is underhanded here .
