I recently sold a virtual item to a seller whilst using a Middle Man (someone who confirms both people are receiving what they get) Everything was fine and the buyer got my item and I got the money that was agreed upon. 2 hours later the money is took out my account and is changed to “pending” and I get an email saying “ We recently notified you that a payment you received was made without the account holder's permission or was the result of a transaction error.” I have full transcript’d proof of us both agreeing on the price and receiving the item whilst the Middle Man was in the chat. Is this enough to win the case?

Unlikely, paypal does not recognise unofficial escrow arrangements.
