Victim of FRAUD!

3 Months ago, I purchased a laptop from what I now see is a sketchy website that I only now see as a scam outfit. I waited 3 months, tracking my item through the international mail. I had regular contact with that website; insisting they produce my already purchased laptop as it had been months in the waiting for delivery.

Eventually, i got a parcel in the mail. It turned out to be a very very cheap, nylon black winter hat wrapped in cheap plastic.

I then wrote back to complain, including the a picture of the original package sent, the contents of it, and an original copy of the computer order form I screen shot of the purchase i ACTUALLY made

they responded by telling me they were sorry, gave a nonsensical excuse as to the error, and proceeded to demand that I send BACK that cheap, worthless hat they sent to me in error, AND on top of that they demanded that I PAY the full return postage BEFORE they would consider A) refunding my money in full, or B) accept a refund from them by accepting a 30% reduction in my refund had i failed to send them back this cheap nylon hat.

I feel they should simply refund my money as I feel they are holding my refund hostage by demanding that I send back this stupid hat and incur LARGE postage fees which they will not pay, in order to get my refund. Am I the only one who feels this is UNETHICAL? Do i deserve my full refund with no strings attached? Is it MY FAULT they sent the wrong item. I do not know how a computer and a hat can be confused. I tried complaining to paypal (which they use as a payment processor) but to no avail. It is ALL to cryptic to approach and i feel it is made difficult to discourage us from seeking what is justifiably OURS!

PLEASE HELP! DBarch CANADA

Another of these???
Chinese Web Sites or on Social Media ads easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.

1. No return address on the returns policy. The site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) but they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost often more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number. if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. Rarely company address information.
4. Great pictures of items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.
5. Fake reviews.
6. Google and you can often see previous company names as they change them once enough claims roll in and Paypal stop them using their services and start over.
7. Send fake tracking numbers to win item non receipt of item claims.

How do I open a dispute with a seller when a purchase goes wrong?

You can open a dispute in the Resolution Centre of your PayPal account within 180 days of payment if:
•You don’t receive the item OR service
You receive an item but it’s significantly different than the description on eBay or on the seller’s website (or you receive a totally different product).

By opening a dispute, you can communicate directly with your seller to work out a problem transaction.

If you reach an agreement with the seller you can close the dispute. If you're still not happy with the result, you can escalate the dispute into a claim. Paypal will review the claim and decide on reimbursement.

These steps apply to Personal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to see the steps that apply to you.

To open a dispute:
1.Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click on the transaction and use the resolve a problem option at the bottom of that details page.

Note:
•Generally buyers must wait at least 7 days from the date of payment to escalate a dispute for an item not received
•Where an item has not been received, please ensure you have given the seller enough time before opening a dispute

Do not close the dispute until you have a refund or your item.
If a seller states that they can't refund until you have closed the dispute don't believe them.
Escalate the dispute to a claim within 20 days (before it times out), if you need Paypal to get involved.

Activate the below link in case you have to return the item at Paypals request (or the correct one for your country as this is the U.S link).

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/returns

If that does not work then if you funded your paypal payment via a card then contact your card issuer and see if they will issue a chargeback.

Hello Kudos. I'm Denny, the frauded person. It has now been a little over one year since that event took place. I will say right off the bat that i did everything to go after them. I got paypal informed that they were frauds and scammers using the paypal service, i contacted THEM directly, several times in emails. They even twice said they would refund my money, albeit different amounts on three occasions, but they did offer. It was always dependent on me incurring a large and ridiculous expense in having to snail mail back to them, the cheap, nylon hat they sent me (clearly deliberately) in order to prove that i got the wrong item. They bloody well had 5 different forms of evidence that I got the wrong item - I had close up photos that proved what i bought from their online store how i paid for it, the entire order page was screen captured, with tracking number. I took photos of the product they sent to me, the hat on the package was the tracking number that was on the order for the laptop computer that i bought from them. they at first said that my parcels must have been mixed up. i said no, the tracking number is correct, the contents you sent me was incorrect.

At any rate, there are a thousand stupid things to say about that horrible experience suffice it to say, they are STILL ONLIINE, with an online store, still using the same web address. and even after i proved they scammed me, through paypal. i see that paypal is still servicing their online payments. I didn't use PayPal i used my visa debit card and paid without a middleman. PayPal KNEW this organization was criminal, yet here they are, back to serving them again. his does not say much good about PayPal!

I am still owed a refund of 47 dollars Canadian, but will never get it, simply because they realize i am in Canada  they are in china, and they just dont have to care about me. it is that simple. BTW, you explanation of red flags for an online scam store from china was almost all correct, a few points were not right, but almost. It was clear to me that it was in china. it was also clear to me that they seemed to have a LOT of nice items, generic mind you, but nice, at ridiculous rock bottom prices. I mean, 47 dollars for a crushed metal laptop? Come on! Still, I sent them money for a product they contracted to send to me,. they broke that contract by not fulfilling it correctly and simply danced around the issue every email, every confrontation. Simply because they could. they could just ignore me and nothing would ever happen. And nothing ever happened indeed.

The page still exists, however, chrome browser bow immediately send a pre-warning when you hit enter to go to the address: Powered by www.yaweg.shop I am VERY disappointed that PayPal continues to apparently do business with them!.

THIS is the initial warning page from Chrome Browser when I clicked the original link that used to go to the page of the item i bought from them....

warning one.jpg

THIS is what the front end of their store looks like now, when you lock up like fort Knox and go venture through....

home page one.jpg

AND when you go back using the incognito page, i suspect they have an algorithm that kicks in suspecting you might be someone they do not want to have visiting the page...

incognito result translated into english.jpg

WHY DON'T I HAVE MY REFUND dammit!!

If you didn't use paypal then why are you asking about paypal getting you a refund ???

If you used your card then  you need to ask your card issuer.
