Unauthorised transaction £600 out of my account - Paypal did nothing

I recently got an email from PayPal for a receipt for payment of around £600 to wowcher.co.uk (apparently for  an iPhoneX). Only problem is that I never did such a thing - my account has been hacked and someone else made this payment. Tried calling PayPal customer service as soon as I noticed (got the receipt at 6 am and called a few hours later when I woke up) - and made a complaint for unauthorised transaction at the resolution centre. Couple hours later received an email from them saying that my claim had been denied, and that there is nothing they can do - saying that there hadn't been an 'unauthorised payment'. I'm really quite upset and distressed right now - I've essentially been scammed out of £600 and PayPal have been so unprofessional - essentially saying they can't refund me and giving no reasons why and how they determined that the payment wasn't unauthorised.

What should I do next? £600 is a lot of money and I'm not going to leave without some kind of compensation.

What a rubbish company - if anyone is reading this - avoid them like the plague. Apparently have 'top notch' security, but turns out is a load of rubbish - terrible concern for customers - essentially told me to sod off when I tried calling again.
