Unable to receive a refund from paypal even though seller has agreed a refund

I have tried for over two months to get a refund from my seller, DGS retail, or Currys as it is known. I returned an item as faulty, using their returns system. It was collected by Royal Mail and arrived safely. The seller agreed a reund, and I have an e-mail confirming my refund 'is on it's way'.

Paypal however are demanding proof of the return. There is no facilitiy for me to e-mail them, as they block all e-mails.  I can't send a copy of the e-mail as proof. The resolution centre doesn't work, it just goes around and around. The phone system is automated and directs me back to the website.

Currys phone never answers, and they don't allow e-mails either.

I just don't know what to do next, other than write off the loss.
