Transaction not listed but payment made - now seller says there is no order

On May 22, 2021, I placed an order online and paid with PayPal.  I received an email from PayPal saying thanks for paying with PayPal and a transaction number, and my credit card was charged.  But the transaction is not listed among my activity. And the seller email is invalid and the link to the order goes nowhere.  Trying to figure out how to dispute the charge.  Thanks.

Did you log in to your account to pay OR pay as a guest buyer?

If the latter then..........

You don't have Paypal buyer protection cover as a guest buyer but you can contact customer services and they may be able to assist you by reaching out to the seller for you.
So If you need help for a guest buyer transaction then you can;

1. Phone Paypal customer services and see if they will help you.
OR
2. Contact your card issuer for a chargeback.
