The "XL Dog Pool" we ordered is the size of a Medium Water Bowl - SCAM!

I ordered an XL Dog Pool that is listed as measuring 60" across by 11" deep (I had to use an internet translator as it was listed in cm but I double checked it today). We waited 48 days for it to arrive and it is about 12" across and 4" deep. When I try to view my order or go to the "store" from my email confirmation, it says the store is no longer available and then I found this page so I contacted PayPal directly. The size of this "XL Pool" is so outrageous it's almost comical but I paid $30 for it and I need a refund. This store is such a scam and really upsetting. I previously felt safe ordering anything that offered PayPal as an option so I'm hoping they'll be able to come through and help make this right. I'll update this post if I have a positive experience - but hoping no one else gets scammed like this! 😞

I had the same issue. I filed a claim with PayPal and though it took a while, I did get my money back. You will need gather all of your documentation (receipt, communication emails with company, etc.) to provide to PayPal to support your case. All in all, it took me about 2 months from the time that I ordered the damn thing for it to get here and then get my money back. Best wishes to you!

I ordered the same thing and my dispute with PayPal is still open.  Can you remember the Company Name that Advertised the dog pool? after you purchase it then converst to the Xingyao e-commerce Co., Limited.  I see ads for Summerdogz Summerpawz.  Wanted to try to leave comments on the right sitet to make other purchasers award.  After complaining about lack of delivery, i then received the "barbie doll sized pool" this past week.

Let me knwo where you may have originally ordered from.

I tried to do the same thing but I don’t have the company name; when I tried to click through the original confirmation email, it said the seller was no longer available. It’s such an awful scam! They never replied to me directly when I replied to their confirmation email but they did reach out when I complained via PayPal. I had to push back 3 times but they ended up agreeing to a 65% refund, which works out to be the cost of the pool without the shipping cost. They said they’d refund in full if I sent back the pool but reminded me repeatedly how difficult and expensive it is to send a package to China right now. They really have quite the scam going... I hope you have good luck getting your money back!

Same here, I ordered the XL size pool and got the 'toy' pool as well.  My dispute is still open with PayPal.  The original website I ordered through is now gone but was hosted on Shopify's system.  Before it disappeared, I took screenshots of the entire page that had the dog pool on it, so I have that at least and have supplied that to PayPal.

Just an update:  I'm still trying to get someone at PayPal to LISTEN TO ME!!!  I've tried going through their @AskPayPal Twitter account (via direct messages) as well as their Messages function on their website.  It's been 7 days since someone on the Twitter account told me they would forward my complaint to a "Specialist" who would get back to me via Twitter DM "as soon as possible".  I've heard nothing.

By using their Message functions, I've got a conversation going but every time someone replies to something, it's a different person!  There is no continuity in the conversation and it's like I have to start over each time I get a reply!  They just keep saying that the seller has agreed to give a full refund as soon as I send the item back.  I can't get ANYONE to answer whether they have actually read all of the info I've already supplied.

Another update:  PayPal has now denied my case because I didn't supply tracking info from sending the item back.  Which, of course, I am not going to do since the issue was created by the seller.  Odd how PayPal's own 'Safety and Security' page says

"Refunds
If an order doesn’t arrive or it doesn’t match the description, we’ll reimburse the full cost of eligible purchases plus original shipping."

Others have gotten full refunds from PayPal for this same situation with this same 'company'.  I guess it just depends on which PayPal 'Specialist' you manage to get in contact with.

So frustrating but almost comical. After waiting 2 months for the item to arrive (I tracked that it was arriving from China so figured it was stuck in customs) I was surprised the supposed to be 76" pool arrived in my mailbox. Yep, 12" diameter with a 4" high wall. I took pictures of my then 5 month old bullmastiff staring down at the bowl with much disdain. I wouldn't trust the material to be safe to use as a water bowl for my dog so I started the process with PayPal with was a little confusing. I was redirected to the website customer service and received the run-around that I would have to wait for the RMA for shipping and then after they received the item they would issue a refund. FYI - the whichneeds.com website it bow redirecting to katerol.com and they somehow added a return disclaimer that states the customer is on the hook for return shipping fees.

May 15: order placed.

July 15:

- Wrong item received.

- Request for refund sent through the website contact (after I checked PayPal and didn't find the proper refund form.)

July 16:

- First response received with a shipping tracking number.

- I responded immediately I had received the item but it was not what I ordered ( I provided general size information.)

- Company requested pictures of everything including the UPC and packaging slip and not to return the item until they processed the request with the correct item and provided return shipping information.

July 17: I sent pictures along with measurements (tape measure in pictures) along with a note that I wanted my money back immediately and did not wish to wait for the return to be processed - they had my funds for over 2 months.

July 28: I sent a follow-up request for my refund via email

July 29:

- Company responded with a "Your request has been updated" message.

- Company also responded with a "kind reminder" to not return the item until they have provided the proper return information.

August 9: I finally found the correct PayPal form to submit for disputes. I uploaded the pictures and described the dispute.

August 10: Company responded with a: you can send it back, but the shipping fee is on you and it will be very costly and timely. Or you can accept a 20% refund of $5.74.

August 11: Um No, I responded again with a "not acceptably, I paid $5.99 for shipping and I want my full refund now. And by the way I haven't been scammed like this in a very long time thanks much."

Gah. Now I'm just waiting, again.

Same. I am in shock as I have been a PaylPal customer and also used it for vendor services for several years. I also have monthly subscription payments through PayPal. I bought the same scam dog pool (from tercy.com, which looked to be a US company at the time...store disappeared when I got the "pool" aka dollar store drinking bowl) after months of waiting (Also, the message option to paypal for customer service is beyond subpar) PayPal just denied and closed the case...my first case ever.  They stated I had to send the item back with tracking number which is $20ish!

Clearly, they value the patronage of these scam companies more than our business. I had denied a credit from the vendor of 65% (item, not shipping). Because it seemed INSANE to pay $17ish for what I received. I am so nostalgic about my PayPal account. But I just can't morally support this. I feel like I have no choice but to close my account and move to one of the other many options.

My advice (unbelievable) is to take the partial credit from the company. I was so sure PayPal would do the right thing, but clearly I was wrong.

I've had exactly the same experience and I'm totally disappointed with Paypal who can obviously see that this is a scam yet have refused my dispute. Fuming and removing myself as a customer
