Before sending a letter before action, is there any more appropriate way forward?
3 days is an unreasonable time in which to reply, and then refuse to entertain any appeal.
The notes up to this point should adequately demonstrate there was nothing of substance to add to the case where even the seller couldn't be bothered to reply and my loss is clear from the start.
