Text message to claim my paypal payment?? Scam?

I've received a text message stating (I've protected some info instead showing ***):

"You've got money! *name of payee* sent you you £** Claim this at https://py.pl/ *****"

I have received payment from this person on several occasions previously. Never before have i received these texts. I have confirmed with the payee that they have in fact made a payment, which they have, but i have not received anything in my paypal account.

I do not want to click on the link in fear that it is a scam. It doesn't seem right to me.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it legit?

Are you receiving the payment on a different paypal account OR email address linked to that paypal account than before?

Hi thanks for responding. I have only ever had the one PayPal account and I've not changed the email address linked to it. Nothing has been changed. Strange isn't it?
