Storm Media Limited, Fraud?

As I was going through my receipts for taxes I noticed an entry on my PayPal for Storm Media Limited for last July. I order art instructional videos often, but I could not find any other info for this. I was charged $24.92.

Has anyone else had problems with Storm Media Limited? I didn't get whatever this company said I ordered. I don't know what it is.

I would like to warn others that this could be a fraud.

I found the facebook seller whose ad I clicked on ==>  Esfranki on Facebook

I now think there are many similar sellers and they charge using the Storm Media Ltd Paypal account.  Storm Media Ltd must be some kind of scam clearing house.

I placed an order with them 15 days ago. How long does it take to receive your order? I can’t find any contact information for the actual company!!

Just do a search of this forum for that company and then...................

How do I open a dispute with a seller when a purchase goes wrong?

You can open a dispute in the Resolution Centre of your PayPal account within 180 days of payment if:
•You don’t receive the item
•You receive an item but it’s significantly different than the description on eBay or on the seller’s website

By opening a dispute, you can communicate directly with your seller to work out a problem transaction.

If you reach an agreement with the seller you can close the dispute. If you're still not happy with the result, you can escalate the dispute into a claim. We'll review the claim and decide on reimbursement.

These steps apply to Personal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to see the steps that apply to you.

To open a dispute:
1.Log in to your PayPal account.
2.Near the bottom of the page, under 'More about your account', click Resolve a problem in our Resolution Centre.
3.Click Dispute a Transaction.
4.Select the button beside the transaction you want to dispute, then click Continue.
5.Select ‘Item dispute’, click Continue and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note:
•Generally buyers must wait at least 7 days from the date of payment to escalate a dispute for an item not received
•Where an item has not been received, please ensure you have given the seller enough time before opening a dispute

https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/first-dispute

DO NOT CLOSE THE DISPUTE UNTIL YOU HAVE A CLEARED REFUND OR YOUR ITEM WHATEVER THE SELLER SAYS. ALSO DON'T FORGET TO ESCALATE THE DISPUTE TO A CLAIM WITHIN 20 DAYS IF THE SELLER DOES NOT REFUND.

If that does not work then if you funded your paypal payment via a card then contact your card issuer and see if they will do a chargeback for you.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Hi Community,

I just want to share that PayPal did refund my 2 transactions worth 60$. I hope that PayPal sets this seller on the Blacklist.

First off -- I love PayPal!

Recently I opened a Dispute Case with PayPal.  They rejected it, but I was able to get my money back from my credit card company.  They plan to take up my issue with PayPal.

The company that scammed me was Storm Media Limited.  They said I had ordered two sling bags which was untrue.  I received the bags and was trying to send them back.  I'd contacted Storm Media several times after receiving emails from them telling me my order was on the way.  Their emails came from 9uppa.  They never answered when I sent email to that address.  They are discussed at link on the website Scam Charge.  I got to it by looking for "Storm Media Scam".  I hope someone with power goes after them.  Most of the people reporting them to Scam Charge have had it happen multiple times in the past year.  They need to be stopped.

Any body else having this problem?

Ordered 2 waist trainers and never received product, just put in a request to refund my money through paypal, but I have to wait for them to respond. Very unprofessional, I’m glad I have paypal to retrieve my money back because other wise it would’ve been a lost cause with money down the drain!

They also go by the trading name  surrealunicorn and advertise on Facebook. Gives tracking number which doesn’t exist and do not reply to disputes.

I was going to order from Storm Media, but before completing transaction I backed out. I never clicked on the “complete transaction” button, but the order was completed anyway.

Me too. Apparently we have no case for dispute for PayPal. I wonder why I bother using PayPal at all if they won't protect me from companies that operate as Joe has described. PayPal shouldn't support organised crime.

I recently found out that storm media has an email address with PayPal by the name of: City-odyssey.com. I emailed them and received a response. I received 1 of the 3 items I was charged for. Maybe others should do the same.
