I have a Gmail email address. Gmail users often setup their email with firstname.lastname at gmail.com . Gmail also recognizes firstnamelasname at gmail.com as the same email address (Note the period in the first address). I setup my account years ago with the email with a period. Today someone setup and account under my name with the Gmail address with no period. I know this because I got the confirmation email from PayPal. I went to PayPal.com to try resetting the password but it wants to send a message to a phone number that isn't mine. I tried contacting customer support and they said they could fix it but then I got put on hold for over an hour.
TL;DR - somebody setup a fraud account in my name and can therefor misrepresent me on PayPal.
