Sent Payment to the wrong person

I sent a $160 to a friend only to find that I sent it to the wrong person who had the exact same name. I discovered my error about 4 days after I forwarded the funds, especially since the real person said they never got it. 

 

I sent the wrong person an email and asked her to return the funds but have gotten no response. And apparently there is nothing PayPal can do about it which really ticks me off. So I emailed off a second request to that person but I don't expect to get a response.

 

So I'm going to have to write that money off. Big mistake. I'll never do that again. I just assumed that PayPal, like a bank, could rectify it. But no can do.

 

Bummer. Not happy with PayPal.
