Seller wants me to retract my dispute to refund me

I have a dispute pending in the resolution center. As my title stated, the seller (which is a company) contacted me via my e-mail with the following:

"As advised, our accounting team is now working on refunding you, however, they're unable to do so due to the dispute you filed through Paypal. If you may, please retract your dispute via Paypal so they can proceed with your refund."

Is there a reason they can't refund me prior to me retracting the dispute?

Hey @sndel89,

I would definitely advise against cancelling your dispute. If you have an open dispute, it does not prevent a seller from issuing you a refund; however, if you cancel your dispute and they decide not to refund you, you will not be able to open a new dispute. In this case, it's typically best to wait for the case to be resolved. Hopefully the case is closed soon!
